Environmental legislation in many regions where Aarhus Centres operate is still in the process of development. Aarhus Centres are therefore key resource centres where citizens can inform themselves about the existing legislation relevant to their environmental rights. Aarhus Centres also inform judges and advocates about the Aarhus Convention and the existing environmental laws and organize public hearings on projects, draft laws and policies.
