Communities are in the front line when natural hazards hit. Aarhus Centres are key players in promoting community-based efforts to reduce disaster risks and the security-related impacts of natural hazards. They organize trainings and awareness-raising campaigns, support local DRR plans, and encourage discussion and dialogue with the aim to increase the resilience of communities and societies.

    The Centre promotes access to information on environmental issues, public participation in decision-making processes and contributes to improving the process of environmental management in Armenia.
